How this site handles your data

Who is in charge
adultacne.org is operated as an independent site and decides for itself what it measures, which makes it the controller of that data. Send any question to privacy@adultacne.org.
What the site records
- Usage statistics: pages viewed, the address you arrived from, reading time and scroll depth, links and buttons pressed, and device facts such as screen size, browser language and time zone.
- Pattern finder answers: worked out on your own device and not sent. Only your pattern and any flags you ticked ride along in the analysis link, and only when you press it.
- Server logs: the host keeps IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested, to protect the site and keep it online.
How statistics travel
Statistics leave your browser for an address on this site, /api/stamp-in, which forwards them to an analytics provider (EU) storing them inside the European Union. Your IP address goes along so that a rough location, such as the country, can be derived. A random visit code kept in session storage groups the pages of one visit and vanishes when the tab is closed, so separate visits stay unlinked. There are no statistics cookies. If you are in the EU, nothing is counted until you choose "Allow".
Where the analysis button leads
"Start my analysis" and the other analysis links go through adultacne.org/adult-check and on to acne.today, an independent paid service. The link tells acne.today which site and which button you used. Anything you give acne.today, including photos, answers or payment details, falls under its own privacy policy.
Lawful basis
- Statistics about EU visitors: your consent, which you can take back at any time via "Statistics choice" in the footer.
- Statistics about other visitors, and server logs: a legitimate interest in running a safe, working site.
- Your emails: answering you.

Retention
Server logs: at most 90 days. Emails: as long as needed to help you, two years at the most.
Recipients
Only the analytics provider and the hosting company, each receiving just what its role requires. Data is not sold to anyone.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, a correction, deletion or a copy, ask for limits on its use, or object to it. Email privacy@adultacne.org; you will hear back within four weeks. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
